The Juana Portaceli Health Center is the medical unit of the Integrated Prevention and Workplace Health Service, which performs the tasks established in the occupational risk prevention regulations and provides medical assistance, medical advice and health promotion to the university community.
Ending poverty everywhere and in all its forms is the greatest challenge facing the world. In this sense, the university must contribute directly in promoting the development of strategies and actions that lead to a development model framed to eradicate extreme poverty.
Poverty concept encompasses various dimensions of deprivation related to human needs: people's right to basic needs such as food (SDG 2), health (SDG 3), education (SDG 4), sufficient income and decent work (SDG 8), clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), and participation in decision-making (SDG 16).
Poverty and inequality (SDG 10) are intrinsically related dimensions, since poverty does not exist in absolute terms, but rather in relationship to a given reality and context.

The university promotes initiatives to ensure that everyone's right to sufficient and nutritionally adequate food is met, both on and off campus.
Obtaining food has a direct impact on people's health and well-being (SDG 3), affects better academic performance (SDG 4), depends on access to clean water (SDG 6) and unpolluted terrestrial and marine ecosystems (SDGs 14 and 15).

The university, in addition to training professionals in health fields, generating research and contributing to the development of medical and pharmacological products, must be a space for healthy and wholesome coexistence.
In this sense, we have contemplated two fundamental areas in this Sustainable Development Goal: on the one hand, health, referring to the provision of medical services and health surveillance in the university community and, on the other hand, an area linked to the promotion of healthy practices and habits, such as sports.

Gender equality+ is, in addition to being a fundamental human right, the necessary foundation for achieving a more just, peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.
Ensuring equal opportunities for women and girls in access to education, health care, decent work and representation in political and economic decision-making processes, among others, will boost more sustainable economies and benefit society as a whole.
A cross-cutting relationship is therefore established with many Sustainable Development Goals such as: SDG 1. End poverty; SDG 2. Zero hunger; SDG 3. Health and well-being; SDG 4. Quality education; SDG 8. Decent work and economic growth; SDG 10. Reducing inequalities; SDG 11. Sustainable cities and communities; SDG 16. Peace, justice and strong institutions.
In relation to the university environment, we will focus on highlighting the policies and resources that the university allocates to promote gender equality and combat discriminatory practices in this area, both within and outside the university community.
